About our members...
I was born and raised on a farm in the Peace River Country in NW Alberta, and have lived in this area of Canada most of my life. Trained as an Industrial Arts teacher, I was always interested in creative designs for my students, with drawing, painting and photography as my hobbies. This presented me with the opportunity of teaching art at the Junior and Senior High School levels for most of my 29 year teaching career.
I am a strong believer in co-operation and volunteerism which has led me into positions with several organizations ranging from a credit union, the Canadian Red Cross, historical and archival societies, my local community museum (14 years), my local fire department (16 years) and the group of artists called Artists North. My varied interests show in the artwork topics I draw and paint.
I have always been a painter of nature and it's inhabitants, but also embrace abstract representations and realistic portraiture. My current media of choice are acrylic paint and graphite, but I am creating an installation which includes photograhic pritraits. I have sold works that are now on Vancouver Island and in Newfoundland.
